ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Emikat Jun is a Filipino-Scottish author who writes, at this time, mainly about the Philippines, and her life as one of the millions of Filipinos living and working outside of the Philippines. Her books are fiction inspired by actual events and experiences.

Emikat Jun, a shortcut for her first name Emilia Kathleen June, was born in 1970 and grew up in the highland provinces of the Philippines. From a very young age, she was very fond of listening to folktales and other stories narrated to her by older relatives and friends.

Emikat Jun gained an Accounting degree in the Philippines before moving to the UK in 1995, where she worked in finance.  While working and raising a child as a single parent, after her first marriage failed, she found time to pursue her childhood passion and studied for a degree in English Language and Literature.  She went on to gain her master's in MLitt Highlands and Islands Literature.

Her works include her debut novel Behind The Mask  (2018), followed by Tales from a Mountain, a Collection of Short Stories (2021).  Both books were published by Wrate’s Publishing in London.  She is currently working on another project.

Today, Emikat Jun lives with her husband and her only son in Scotland, UK.
