Climbing BEN NEVIS, the highest mountain in Britain, with my son. Couldn't have done it without him! This was planned for my 50th Birthday in June but was cancelled due to COVID 19! Pardon the heavy breathing. I do have asthma which made it all the more challenging, but we got there in the end, plodding and chest heaving LOL! Very tough going but It was all worth it. Discovering a hidden beauty in Glasgow! The Speirs Wharf Canal is home to the annual Glasgow Canal Festival which is held every July, except this year 2020 due to the COVID 19 pandemic. The beautiful buildings that sit next to the canal were built in 1851 as offices, but in 1989, they were converted into 150 gorgeous residential apartments with private leisure centre and commercial centres. There were a few beautiful barges (long flat-bottomed boats) and houseboats that line the canal onto a cobbled street, making the place all the more attractive for visitors and residents alike. Visit to Falkirk Wheel, the magnificent 115ft (35m)tall Engineering gem in Scotland, and the world's first and only rotating boat lift. it only requires 22.5 kilowatts or the power of eight domestic kettles, to sail the boats through the air and transfer them between the two canals. Three-week old cygnets ferociously guarded by their parents. Notice how the two Swans 'communicate' as they detect someone coming towards them. Mr. Swan at the front guard while Mrs. Swan hissed and flapped her wings as I passed by. The Swan family of 8 cygnets with their parents made their nest on the side of a popular footpath at Sikeside Canal in Coatbridge, Scotland, causing 'traffic' on the pathway. Walkers and cyclists tend to stop and pass by very gently. So far, they've not attacked anyone. A bit scary but fascinating being up-close with them, though. Beautiful creatures!!!
